In 2004, Latoya graduated from Morgan State University and immediately began her career in media sales. After 5 years in successful growth and development she moved on to start her family and work in real estate. In 2010, she began selling homes. Since then, she has sold homes for 2 of the top 5 construction builders in the country, grossing over $50 Million in revenue. Presently, Latoya is a Mortgage Branch Manager with Van Dyk Mortgage, licensed in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
In 2012, Latoya obtained her Master's Degree in Social Work from Howard University. Though, she continued working in real estate. She applied her degree as Government Affairs Director & Vice President for the Washington DC Chapter of Veteran's Association of Real Estate Professionals. In this position, she met with local, state, and federal officials including Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, to fight on behalf of our veterans for housing programs, grants, and home ownership education. VAREP and its members represent all sectors of real estate, housing, and financial service industries to ensure active and retired military are never discriminated against in the home buying process.
Latoya's overall mission is to educate, especially those whom feel least able to attain homeownership. There is an ancient African proverb that says "Each one, teach one". Latoya shares, "I love what I do because it allows the opportunity to share the knowledge accumulated over the years and help someone else."
